Menominee Range Museums Open this week

The Cornish Pumping Engine and Mining Museum, along with the World War II Glider Military Museum, opens on Monday, June 2. Hours of operation for the season are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday. The Cornish Pump and Glider museum are located at 300 Kent St. in Iron Mountain.
The Menominee Range Historical Foundation Museum, located at 300 East Ludington St. in Iron Mountain, opens its doors for the season on Tuesday, June 3. The museum is open Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
There are new displays at the glider museum this year. The Piper Cub and Heiserman airplanes were suspended from the ceiling. With space on the floor opening up, a 4 ft. by 10 ft. simulated gas station has filled in the area. It contains a refurbished gas pump, a 1930's Ford Dump truck and a Ford Car.
